Some of the best places to stay, camp, work or eat have terrible signal. The cottage at the bottom of the valley. The pitch at the far end of the field. The cellar bar. The meeting room behind three fire doors.
Until now, if a guest lost signal, Otis went quiet. Not any more.
Front desk mode
The first time a guest opens your page, a copy is saved on their phone, along with your guide. If the connection drops, or they open it again somewhere with no signal, Otis answers the everyday questions straight from that saved guide: the Wi-Fi details, arrival, checkout or opening times, parking, bins, house rules, food and your local tips.
It's simpler than the full Otis, but it covers the questions guests ask most. And if something's genuinely wrong, he still gives them the right local emergency number.
Messages wait for the signal
Anything a guest sends that needs you is kept on their phone and passed on as soon as they're back online. They see a note saying so, so nobody's left wondering.
Tips
- Put your QR sign somewhere with good signal, like by the entrance, so guests open the page when they arrive.
- Guests can tap Save to your phone at the bottom of the page, to open it like an app.
Otis saysNo bars? No problem. I've memorised the Wi-Fi password, the house rules and where the bins go.
