Otis answers what he can from what you've told him. When something needs a person, he lets you know, and tells the guest he has. Every alert lands in your Inbox, and the ones that matter reach your phone too.
Three kinds of alert
- 🚨 Emergencies. Fire, flooding, a gas smell, someone hurt. Otis tells the guest to call the emergency number first if anyone's in danger, then alerts you. Emergencies always reach you, so you never miss one.
- ⚠️ Urgent problems. Something broken that he can't help fix, a lockout, a complaint about noise or cleanliness.
- 🛎️ Requests and questions. Things only you can decide, like a late checkout, extra guests or a pet, and questions Otis couldn't answer from your information.
Choose how each one reaches you
In Notifications, choose whether urgent problems and requests reach your phone. Emergencies always do. Whatever you choose, everything lands in your Inbox too.
Text alerts are coming soon. Until they're switched on, alerts reach you as notifications from the Bellhop app.
How to
- Get the Bellhop app on your phone and turn notifications on.
- Add your mobile number in Account, ready for when text alerts arrive.
- Open Notifications and set the switches for urgent problems and for requests.
He doesn’t nag
If a guest mentions the same problem twice, Otis knows he's already told you, and doesn't send it again. He also never promises anything on your behalf: no refunds, discounts or exceptions. He says you've been told and will reply.
At hotels and co-working spaces, you can add team members' mobile numbers and choose which alerts each of them gets. Those alerts go out by text, so they'll start arriving once text alerts are switched on.
Otis saysI'd rather ring once too often for a leak than not at all. The Wi-Fi password, though? I've got that.
